You can find the following applications on the live-dvd:
"Transmission" is a BitTorrent client. You may download torrents or create them yourself.
"Jitsi" is a VoIP client with full support of the OSTN protocol with ZFONE encryption developed by P. Zimmermann. An encrypted connection is installed automatically, if your communation partner supports ZFONE encryption too. For using VoIP you have to register a SIP account. You may try one of the OSTN provider Tanstagi, PillowTalk or Ostel.me.
"Skype" is installed only on the live-DVD. Because you can use "Skype" for landline calls it is affected by the CALEA act and has to offer interfaces for lawenforcement agencies and intelligence services in many countries.
You may use "Skype" to circumvent blocking of JonDonym by sophisticated censorship firewalls like the "Great Firewall". Start "Skype" and log into the Skype network. Afterwards you may start "JonDo" and open the configuration dialog. Go to the section network settings and enable the skype-forwarder.
With "Shotwell" you can import photos from your digital camera and you have some basic features for image manipulation.
"Simple Scan" is a small and easy to use application to get images from your scanner or webcam.
Only on the DVD version you may find "GIMP" and "XSane".
"Parole" media player allow to watch/listen to different kinds of media. Parole can play Internet streams as well.
With "Pulseaudio" you may use to control the volume of all sound outputs and inputs of your sound card. If your speaker is silent please open "Pulseaudio". Time by time some sound cards start with silent volume for PC speaker.
"ePDFVierwer" is installed as pdf-viewer. Double-clicking on a pdf document in the file manager opens this document.
The DVD contains "LibreOffice.org" and "Calibre" (for eBooks).
"wireshark" is part of the live-dvd. You may use the tool to sniff the traffic of a network interface. At first you have to enable sniffing of network traffic for normal users with the following command and afterwards you can start wireshark: > sudo dpkg-reconfigure wireshark-common
If a blog was to small for you, you may find tools for anonymous server administration too.
For development of HTML pages, PHP scripts and so on you may use the IDE "BlueFish".
Using "Filezilla" you can transfer your files to the server. Anonymisation of "Filezilla" is possible with JonDonym (premium) and Tor.
Using "proxychains" you may anonymize applications running in a terminal. Its configuration is already adapted to JonDo. To administrate servers anonymously with SSH you may use e.g.: > proxychains ssh ...
If you would prefer Tor you may use: > torsocks ssh ...
