Don't confuse SpeedDrive with SpeedDisk, they're different kind of programs.
SpeedDrive is a disk cache which also caches CD-ROM drives.  I would say
the program does a good job caching cdroms.  I read this magazine (Multimedia)
which reviews some cd-caching software for cdroms, they said caching software
doesn't improve performance that much and that increasing the buffers in
your mscdex.exe line could probably give good results.  Anyone can comment on
this?  Do you think caching software is worth to buy?
