Is there a definitive answer to the question of whether there
is a performance difference between hooking a cd-rom drive,
such as the Panasonic 562B, up to a SoundBlaster interface
instead of a proprietary adapter? Is it a driver/software
issue or hardware issue?

Any help appreciated.
