Message-ID: <1994Mar1.174752.9116@chemabs.uucp> Sender: usenet@chemabs.uucp Reply-To: brh54@cas.org Organization: Chemical Abstracts Service Date: Tue, 1 Mar 1994 17:47:52 GMT Lines: 24 The DAK Industries (1-800-325-0800) catalog came yesterday, and he's advertizing a BSR 380 MS, double-speed 300+ KBS MPC Multimedia CD-ROM drive for $249 (internal version). That includes 2-way amplified computer speakers (1.6" tweeters and 3" woofers) and something called an interface/sound card. It's not clear whether the interface/sound card works as a standalone sound card, but the interface supposedly works with "any sound card". For $49.90 more, you can get a 16-bit (true stereo???) interface/sound card. The interface sound card uses two back plates but only one expansion slot. Oh, the drie is Kodak Multisession Photo CD and XA compatible. It sounds like a great deal, but I'm soliciting comments from you experts. I'm mostly confused by the interface/sound card. Thanks for your help on this.
