Folks,

This may sound like a naive question, but I don't care.

When using a tape deck or VCR player/recorder we have always been warned to
not leave the tape on "pause" for very long to avoid damage to the tape by
stretching it or, in the case of the VCR, burning the tape. Is there any
reason why a CD-ROM should not be paused for any length of time? I frequently
play audio CD's while working at the computer and, at times, I need to pause
for awhile. I like being able to pick up right from where it left off, but
if it will cause damage to anything, I'll stop it.

I would appreicate any info regarding this.

Thanks,

Jim Mumper
