Gaaccck!!  Ask yourself this: would you try that little trick on a camera lens?

There's one trick I can suggest.  If the scratch is deep but small, apply a
bit of Mop N Glo with a cotton swab.  Do NOT apply to the entire surface of
the disk.  Regard this as a temporary measure, and replace the disc if it's
practical.

Standard dislaimers apply: it's your backside if you mess anything up as a
result of using this suggestion.
