SFJI, but I sent my NEC 3Xi back and bought a PLI(Toshiba) double-speed drive 
and am using it with my SB16 SCSI-2. My benchmarks with it are actually better 
on real applications than the NEC. The Red Book audio is MUCH better. The NEC 
drives have absolutely abysmal audio no matter what sound card you use.
FWIW, just wanted to throw this in from the trenches.
