But presumably you would have no objection to splitting this group
into (say) alt.cd-rom.for-sale.commercial, a.c.for-sale.private,
a.c.wanted, ... a.c.games, ... a.c.misc?  If you like *everything*
in this group, I imagine you can simply select all the new groups.
Meanwhile, for the rest of us...

How do we get this off the ground?  Do we have to go through all
the bureaucracy needed for non-alt.* groups, or can somebody just
ask the guy who created alt.alien.vampire.flonk.flonk.flonk or
alt.romance.chat.indiana.barf.barf.barf to work some magic for us?
Or did people actually vote for such groups?
