  I don't know if you can receive this by my simply replying,
but hey, here goes.

  Do you have this line in your config.sys:
DEVICE=C:\SB16\SB16D2.SYS 1 1 5 5 220 8 /N:SBAUD1$
                                      ^
                 Make this 8 a 2 and see how it plays.

  You might save your config.sys to config.bak and if things
don't work well, just copy config.bak to config.sys and you'll
be back where you started.
