Hello,
I am having difficulties with the installation of my CD-ROM drive
into my computer.

The problem is that after installing the CD-ROM and sound card that came
with the drive the internal modem no longer works.

The CD-ROM/sound-card system is called Fusion CD-16 Computer CD-Sound System,
from Media Vision. I believe that the name of the sound card is something
like Pro-Audio Spectrum 16 or Fusion CD 16 (not sure exactly what name
it goes by as the driver in windows is Pro Audio and Fusion CD 16 is mentioned
in the manuals)

I think that the problem is with the IRQ and DMA setting of the various
devices. But I'm not too familiar about these things on the PC so I
would appreciate any help with this.

My machine is a 486dx-33, 4meg ram, 5.25" & 3.5" drives.

The setting of the various devices are as follows:

	CD-ROM: IRQ -	3 (default COM2)
			I/O Adr.-	340H (default)

* The only IRQ's available for the CD-ROM are: 2, 3, 5 and 7
  The only I/O addresses for the CD-ROM are : 340h, 330h, 310h, 300h

	Sound Card	IRQ	-	7
			DMA	-	5

* The available IRQ's for the sound card are: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, 15
  The available DMA's for the sound card are: 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 7

	Sound Blaster	IRQ	-	5
	Emulation	DMA	-	1

	Internal Modem	IRQ	-	3 (COM 4)
			I/O Adr.-	2E8H

* According to the available jumper settings on the modem card it can be
set to COM ports 1 to 4.

	COM1	:	IRQ 4 I/O 3F8-3FF
	COM2	:	IRQ 3 I/O 2F8-2FF
	COM3	:	IRQ 4 I/O 3E8-3EF
	COM4	:	IRQ 3 I/O 2E8-2EF

	Mouse IRQ	-	4 (COM 1)

Well the modem and CD-ROM are set to IRQ 3 so I'm figuring that this is
where the problem is.

Could someone who knows more about IRQ's & DMA's please help me out
as I have tried out what I can but I haven't gotten things to work.
I am not sure of any other IRQ's which I can use, which are free.

One thing I'm wondering is whether the mouse can be set to some other IRQ
instead of COM1 & COM3 IRQ4 and COM2 & COM4 IRQ3? The mouse driver that
I have apparently only allows IRQ's to be set from 3 to 7 and the I/O
address to be specified also along with it.

Any help or ideas on how I can get the modem to work with this set up
would be greatly appreciated.

If there is an e-mail address to contact Media Vision I would like that
if possible.

Thanks in advance...
Cheers... :)
Diego Barros
