That PowerPc machines which I saw at the Computer Show was a : joke !! I got to admit though, Ibm and Apple have done great jobs of hyping the PowerPc, even a better job than Microsoft would. I have seen and "tinkered" with a PowerPc and IMHO it's not all it's cracked up to be. EMULATION SUCKS! If you want to run Word For Windows, Excel, PageMaker, or even solitaire (just had to throw that one in :-)) GET a darn pc. Do I dare say it, yes get a Pentium. A Pentium would run circles around a PowerPc given the state of applications out there. If you've got your heart set on getting a PowerPc wait till the price comes down AND there are NATIVE applications that will run on that baby.
