Good Data Transfer Rate:  300 (this is the standard 2x speed (2x150))
Good Access time: < 300ms

Most drives have 320ms access time (which is why a good cache is an
excellent idea -- Lightening CD is a good one).  Some have 295 or 300,
mostly expensive SCSI drives.  But definitely avoid a drive with an
access time greater than 330 ms -- that's over 2/3 of a second right
there!
