I just talked with the folks at Virgin about this problem. I have not verified
this yet because I am at work right now but here is the solution they gave
me:

Go to the change configuration and:

  1) Select Adlib for the music

     then

  2) Select SoundBlaster (regular) for the voice (not the SBPro)

The tech's first question was if I had an SB16. Then he had the solution 
immediately. Sounds like all of us who have an SB16 will have this problem.
