Date: 6 Apr 94 18:16:52 GMT Organization: The University of British Columbia Lines: 16 Message-ID: NNTP-Posting-Host: unixg.ubc.ca Hi! I'm new to this group so sorry if this question has been asked before. With CD-roms becoming more and more affordable, I was wondering if I can turn my PC into some kind of CD player for DJ mixing. THe PC would have 2 CD-roms, 2 sound cards and a software that would act as the mixer. Output would go to a regular stereo system. Is this possible? If so, is there any software that can act as the mixer? What about the CD-rom drives? Would they be able to withstand 4-5 hours of continuous use? Comparable Cd players costs around $1200 to $2500 and that doesn't include the mixer. I PC setup would cost much less, I suppose. Thanks. If anyone knows a better newsgroup to direct this question, please let me know.
