Oversees and coordinates the daily operation, maintenance, and upgrades of the Library's NOTIS automation system. Serves as a liaison between the library and the computer center on information technology- related issues. Supports the library's microcomputer-based applications for users and staff. Participates in staff training. Provides technical expertise in telecommunications and networking. Participates in policy and operational decisions on all aspects of library automation system and on other issues related to electronic information delivery and office automation. Provides leadership in further enhancing library services through innovative use of available technology. Performs special project assignments and other related duties as appropriate. Qualifications: ALA accredited MLS or MS in information technology required. Second Master's degree or a specialist degree, or Ph.D is also required for tenure. (individuals with a MLS or MS degree in a relevant field with excellent practical experience may be considered for academic staff position leading to an indefinite appointment.) Relevant professional experience in the maintenance of integrated library automation system. Expertise in microcomputer-base applications, telecommunications and networking.
