Here is a quick summary of the replies... SB Pro will drive Panasonic/Matushita, Creative Labs drives SB 16 MCD does the above PLUS Mitsumi and some Sony drives SB Pro will handle any cdrom drive's audio signal Here is a more complete list of facts... Panasonic (aka Matushita): all SHOULD work; the following are known specifically to run: 521 (? not sure of this number), 562b, 563 Creative Labs: all their drives SHOULD work (note: the box doesn't state you need windoze, but you do) Reveal: their CDD02 is a Panasonic 563 the box states explicitly which interfaces will work Mitsumi: FX-001D will work with an SB 16 MCD ($160+/-) but *not* SB Pro (it works fine with Linux, too, with a bus interface) less than $200 for the drive works fine using a bus interface and the SB Pro doing the audio SB 16 MCD will also drive some Sony drives Thanks again to all who responded, and good luck to those in the market for a drive. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ronald P.
