Some CD players allow control of the output volume by software.

So you won't need a soundcards as a mixer. Just use an external
audio mixer with the 2 volume knobs at the same level, or
if you are able to, build a simple audio adder ( about
4 resistors, 4 capacitors an op-amp and jacks)

The 2 problems I see are :

	* CDROM players are not very good CDDA players.
I won't use my CDROM player to listen to my favourite
CDs on my hifi in the living room. It's just
good enough for fun to lesson some music
	  when using my PC.
So I am not sure it would good enough for DJ work

	* I don't think there is a dedicated software for what
	  you want to do.
Even if it is simple (the combination of 2 CD players
and 2 volume knobs), you will need to do the software
yourself (or find someone to) in order to get a
dedicated software that make i usefull
(using non dedicated software would be painful I think)

That's my opinion.
