Hi,

I read this as a reference to controlling the Red Book
(audio) output from the CD drive. I'm referring to software
control of the volume of wave audio output from computer
through the card. We developed a product using calls to the
standard Windows API to control volume on the fly; it worked
fine on most cards, but not on the Aria. We didn't devote
much time to debugging or even really learning the Aria, but
I personally would be grateful if someone could point out
something we missed about the card. My assumption has been
that they followed the common bad habit of not following API
standards, and that their nonstandard practice was so whacky
that it used its own volume-control protocol.

Any info out there?
