I received a nice note from Jan Schwenk about this posting in which he attributed many of my problems to MS-DOS and Mickeysoft. While I am a major basher of the lame way the original PC was done, the makers of the programs writing for this machineg MUST take its frailities into account when designing their software. One of my pet peeves is vendors, mainly gamers, that assume the machine does NOTHING except run their program. Consequently they assume every resource on the machine is theirs. This includes the Stellar 7 problem and the DOOM picadilio. Jan said he could help me with some of the problems I have and I will be communicating whih him privately. As to his CDRom of CDRoms, evidentally I gave it a HoHum, I didn't save my copy. Jan took exception to this, probably rightfully. I wasn't really interested in this product and had not tried it. I went back and tried it. For anyone interested in such a listing this product is well worth while. There is a LOT of information here! Making this a comprehensive, totally error free product is about as easy as catching the wind in a butterfly net, givin the quickly changing nature of such a listing. I think $30 is NOT an unfair price for this bundle, however I'm still bummed at the problems getting these things to run. Jim Again, These are MY OPINIONS ONLY!! I not even sure SLAC allows opinions without management permission.
