We have been using a Meridian Data Personal Scribe 500P system (really a
Philips unit) for a year with great success.

CD-R writing units go hand in hand with CD cutting software, and I find it
difficult to discuss one without the other.

I use Personal Scribe version 1.11A software, a DOS only package, but very
easy to use. Like most packages, it cuts 550MB in 30 minutes flat.

I have tried Tempra CD Producer , a Windows package from Tempra Infoscience.
I must say I was not impressed at all! The current version still insists on
creating a virtual image file or your data. This results in double the work
and took 95 minutes to cut a 500MB CD!

I have heard but have not tried CD-GEN which is said to be very good.

I would like to ask CDROM-l members to give their reviews/impressions of the
cd-cutting software they are using .
