Message-ID: Organization: NETCOM On-line Communication Services (408 241-9760 guest) Date: Mon, 25 Apr 1994 21:25:25 GMT Lines: 21 Hello - I have already bought a Future Domain 8-bit SCSI card (already have a sound blaster) and it has Corel SCSI software. It has an external "25 pin", parallel style SCSI port. I can get a NEC CDR 25 external CDROM for $99.00. My question is : 1 - Is $99.00 a good buy? 2 - Will I have to disable parity on the NEC while using the Future Domain SCSI card? I have seen this requirement with other SCSI cards. 3 - What is the throughput? 300 ms? 250 ms? 4 - For $13.30 I can purchase a "CD Blitz Cache". Is this worth the money? ...cfg... 04/25/94
