SP>First of all...ARE YOU SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT AUDIO CABLE
CONNECTED???

I configure, build, and program computers for a living. So, I would also
suggest that you check the small grey cable that attaches to your CD-ROM. This
is your CD-ROM's Audio-OUT cable...It attaches to your Sound-Card. I have
noticed that the CD-ROM's audio pins don't always match up w/ the Sound Card's

To check if yours does do the following.
First, get out your documentation on the Sound Card and the CD-ROM.
Next, check to see if the pins, there are 4 of them, match up between the
Sound card and CD-ROM. If they do then you're OK, If not then you might
have to re-configure the cable or use the outside RCA plugs.

If you have to go into your computer....GROUND YOURSELF BEFORE YOU TOUCH
ANYTHING!!!!!!
