I have a Trantor parallel port adapter (model T184 - I think), its not the epp model but is the fastest non-epp model they have. I have it hooked to my laptop and an NEC CDR-25 cdrom. When I'M in the office, the laptop is hooked up to a lantastic network. In general, it works well. It seems a bit slow over the network but it is a slow drive. The only problem I have is that it will not work with any of the new microsoft CD-Roms over the network (I have not tried them locally yet). The Specific CD's I have tried but failed are the C++ 1.5 and the last 2 versions of the Microsoft Developers Network CD roms. Microsoft says its a driver problem. I have tried trantor tech suppt. They gave me a new driver which did not work. I have not called back since I tried the new driver. Tech support is very hard to get ahold of (I was in line 45 minutes) but it is an 800 number. The tech suppt. guy was very helpful. Hope this helps. Jack W. Lix jwl@netcom.com -- jwl@netcom.com
