System Specs: 486/SX 25 170mb HD Pro Audio Spectrum 16 card Toshiba TXM3401E1 External CD-ROM DOS 5 Windows 3.1 (don't use it much) 16mb of memory Problem 1. When I use play.exe or playfile.exe to play a WAV/VOC sound file, the file plays and right before the end of the file, it loops back and startes the file again. The Problem just appears from time to time, and I'm not sure what makes it show up or go away. Any ideas? Problem 2. I have a copy of Rebel Assault 1.4. It seems to run fine, but sometimes it won't play the audio (music or SFX). If I change the driver from Pro Audio Spectrum to sound blaster compatable, it usually works, bu sometimes I have to switch drivers repeatedly, sometimes working iwtht he soundblaster driver, sometimes with the PAS driver. Just this morning, I tried to run it but none of these "patches" worked. What's going on here? Could this be tied to question 1? Problem 3. Not really a problem, I just need to know what the quickest route out of the ice tunnels on Chapter 7 of RA is. Oh, I forgot, here is my AUTOEXEC.BAT set blaster=A220 D1 I5 T3 PROMPT $P$G @ECHO OFF PATH=C:\;C:\DOS;C:\DOSFAX;C:\zip;C:\arj;c:\proaudio;C:\wp51;C:\windows;C:\tp pas set volume to 55 play C:\sound\r2d2-2.voc LOADHIGH C:\windows\smartdrv.exe LOADHIGH c:\bin\mscdex.exe /d:mscd000 /v loadhigh C:\mouse\smouse and here's my CONFIG.SYS LASTDRIVE=D DEVICEHIGH=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS DEVICEHIGH=C:\dos\emm386.exe /NOEMS DEVICEHIGH=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE DEVICEHIGH=C:\dos\ansi.sys DOS=HIGH, UMB FILES=30 DEVICEHIGH=C:\DEV\MDSCD_FS.SYS /D:MSCD000 /N:1 stacks=0,0 DEVICEHIGH=c:\proaudio\mvsound.sys d:3 q:7 s:1,220,1,7 m:0 j:1 One last thing I forgot to add, and I'm still nto too good at useing VI, TBPRO locks up every once and a while. If I try to play a song, it just stops and plays nothing (I can still ESC out of it). If I come back later (after machine is off and back on) it will work. Anyone got a fix for this? ------------- Chris Gill chris@gp.com RIME> BROADMANN Of course the views here are mine, who else would want them?
