Finally, I have sound running in CD-ROM applications in Windows. The sound  
is clear but there is static in the background and I have to turn up the
volume on the speakers to hear anything. I DO NOT have a ground wire 
running from the CD-ROM to a ground. Do you think this is the cause or is 
there possibly another explanation. All I know is I have had some bloody
problems with this Panasonic CR-562-B CD-ROM...not the CD-ROM itself but, 
rather, lack of documentation and technical support. Anybody know of an 
address or toll free number for Panasonic in Canada, preferably, or even 
the U.S.  Peace!
