I have somewhat the same problem you do. I just got a Metrovision Microsystems
486 Media, which also came with Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia, and I
can't seem to get mine to load, either. I don't get the same error you do:
I get a prompt to insert the disc (which I had already done): I appear
to have some inconsistency between my autoexec.bat file and my
config.sys file: I am working on this.
I notice that a good bit of the software for Compton's (I assume to
access the cdrom) is located on drive c under the windows menu
"cie." Are we having some problem with this? I can't seem to get
my system to recognize the existence of the CD drive at all. Strange thing
is that it worked fine on the first day, then didn't work at all on the
second. Stumps me. I'll e-mail you if I get any answers:I'm going to make
