By the way, has the FAQ for this group been updated? And where is it? What is this Redbook stuff? And how does it relate to the CD-DA format discussed in the ANSI SCSI-2 standard. Do CDRs create actual audio CDs or are they a just a special CD-ROM form of Audio? Now that CDRs are 2x and 4x speeds, does this mean that the 1x only speed drives are cheaper? If so, I am looking for model numbers and phone numbers (Sony, Philips, Kodak, JVC, etc) for drives that support CD-DA reading/writing (yes I have read the PC Mag and Mac User reviews). Where can I get the ISO 9660 standard? Something to add to the FAQ: As of 5/4/94, NEC tech support says that NONE of their drives can read CD-DA blocks, they are working on it...Rumor had it that the upgrade to the 84 would do it, well that is the 84-1 and it does not. This means that the 3x and 4x drives do not either. Their SCSI-2 spec has not been updated since ver 0.0 from '92 or so. swelch@nmsu.edu
