I'm not altogether sure... The general ethic seems to be that the Usenet
shouldn't be used for advertising. However, having said that, my company
recently put out a big ad on alt.cd.rom for a new CD-ROM, the Singapore Trade
Connection, which we apologise for because we were new to the 'net and we didnt
know you weren't supposed to advertise (blatantly). However, having said that,
I think its ethical to put out ads like: 'Check this new CD or catalog of CD's
- for details e-mail us at <yournode>.' Lots of reputable CD-ROM vendors do
this on the 'Net as far as I can see. Advertising a WHOLE catalog on the
newsgroup, however, is another thing. I still like CD-ROM Access's catalog
though, it's got some good titles on it.

So, if anybody wants one of these Singapore Trade Connection CD-ROMs, or just
wants more details (it's probably indispensible for doing business with the
far east if you are doing so or thinking of doing so) please email
strat1@strateg1.demon.co.uk . There's not many left, so order now. (;->)

Cheers,
