I don't know the specs of the NECx drives, however you might want to consider the
Toshiba 34xx line of drives. It was (ta least when we got it) one of the fastet
drive around, and does very well with big programs like T7g and fast processes
like Rebel Assault (with RA, the drive never stops acesssing, it's always a 
step ahead of you). If I'm correct, the drive has over 370k throughput and really fast acess time (I don't remember the number)
