First of all, the game seems to have unnatural pauses. (One of them occurs in the beginning of the game, when you go down the secret door to the cauldron.) I was unsure whether or not this was an actual bug, then I read on this newsgroup that a new version came out for owners of Mitsumi CD-ROM drives. So now I am wondering, will the upgrade help out my situation? I would really like to get rid of the 30-60 second pauses that the game seems to make every so often. Just for the record, I have a 486/66 with 8MB, a Mitsumi FX001D CD-ROM drive, and am caching the drive with 64K via MTMCDAE and 20 buffers via MSCDEX. (Also, I am read caching it with SMARTDRV.) I can't picture that with all of this speed, the game would still run so slowly. If anyone has any information about the new version of MYST, how much it costs, and what exactly that it does, please e-mail me. Thank you for your help, Christopher Hayashida
