I just bought a used NEC C-36 cdrom driveand I have been having a hard time
getting it to work with my BBS. I am using the Trantor parallel-to-scsi
interface card. What is happening is I load up the drivers and initially
it works fine. I am able to do a directory of the cd-rom in the drive..
But when I set up the door to try to access the cdrom, the busy light stays
on for a long while. Eventually I get a unable to read drive error.

When I then try to do a directory then it gives me a similar error.
The only whay I am able to access the cdrom is to run scsitest.exe.
It seems as if it is a driver problem, but I am not sure exactly since
I have never worked with cd-roms before.

Also, another problem that I face is that when the driver did not load
correctly, and the computer reboots (because of a program I have) it
displays a hit return to continue prompt. Is there anyway to get the
driver not to display this prompt if the driver did not load. Because of
this prompt, my bbs will not load up via my autoexec.bat file.

Thanks!

Jen
