I just called NEC because I've been unhappy with my 3xi's performance, I
was informed that there is a new firmware update available. If you
registration number does not end in 'D', and you are unhappy with you
drive, you may want to request the firmware upgrade. (The # is
1-800-388-8888, and the voice mail navigation sequence is 2-2-2. Be
prepared to wait 1 hour to finally talk to a human, though.)

They also said "What? That shouldn't work at all!" when I told them I
was using a T128 SCSI Host adaptor. :-? Go fig.
