Hello,
I am about to purchase a Creative Labs GameBlaster CD16
Multi-media Kit. The best price I have found is around
$160 mail order and $180 at a local store.

This has a double speed CD rom drive (300kb/s 350ms avg
seek), SoundBlaster Pro16 Sound Card, amp.ed speakers, joystick,
and about 11 disks. I plan on using it for programming (ie.
installing C++ and operating systems from it), as well as
games and multi-media stuff.

I realize that there are better (faster) drives with
better interfaces (SCSI II), but for a 50% improvement
(triple speed), I can't see spending more then double the money.

I currently have a 386DX-33 with 4meg RAM and 210meg HD (IDE).
Does anyone out there have any opinions (good or bad) about
the multi-media package I am about to buy.

Thanks in advance for any input,
