     If you're porting the sound through the PAS-16 card, you can control the
master volume by setting the V: switch for the MVSOUND.SYS TSR (in your
config.sys file).  

Additionally, you can usually use Ctrl+Alt+U to raise the volume (Ctrl+Alt+D
to lower) inside DOS apps.

Or, you can use the PAS program to change it.  At the DOS prompt type:
 PAS *
to get into the program, or just give it a command:
 PAS SET VOLUME TO 75

Or, you can use the PROAS command at the DOS prompt, if you have that utility
installed (it's on the Media Vision BBS, or on newer install disks):
 PROAS V:75
