Since it was working perfectly and there were no system changes I suspected a dirty lens. I pulled the unit out and removed the top cover expecting to see a huge dustball over the lens, but it was clean. I'm running DOS 6.2, Smartdrive, Memmaker, and MSCDEX with the CDMKE43.SYS driver and have a D: drive. Accessing the drive however gives the infamous error message ERROR: NOT READING DRIVE D: ABORT, RETRY, FAIL? How do I go about diagnosing the problem?
