Always get SCSI if you can.

SCSI is the future. SCSI allows external devices to be attached to your
computer (DAT, CD-ROM, Optical, Scanners, Media jukeboxes, Hard Disks, etc).

IDE and future proposed IDE **DO NOT PROVIDE EXTERNAL CONNECTION
CAPABILITIES**

Therefore its SCSI or nothing. Macs have had SCSI for almost 10 years now
and there are countless interesting peripherals Mac users routinely use.
The most common being a peronal external hard disk or two that they carry
around with them to shuttle data between work and home.
