The one that came with DOS 6.2 or one that came : > with your CD-ROM? : I'll bet a pitcher of beer that the problem is simply that MSCDEX is being : loaded after SmartDrive. I allowed the Creative Labs installation program to : modify my AUTOEXEC.BAT file and it placed the MSCDEX line at the end of the : file. Thus, when SmartDrv was loaded, it couldn't know to set up the cache to : deal with the CD-ROM drive. The "Cannot be used with selected drive" error was : the same one I saw before editing the AUTOEXEC.BAT file to load the MSCDEX : driver before starting SMARTDRV. alsooo..my 2 cents worth...the creative labs sb16 installiation trys to use it's OWN mscdex..becarefull...look at the path and i'll bet this is the case..happened to me too..until ichanged the path to c:\dos\mscdex....latzz -- the Flyer gearup flapsup shutup...
