OEM is an acronym for Own Equipment Manufacturer, i.e: the guys who make the
hardware. As seen in CDROM lists, it usually means that the software was
intended to be bundled and, therefore, does not come with the full packaging
that full retail versions do. More often than not, the CD will carry the legend
"Not For Resale", but this doesn't seem to bother most people. The supplier
will have got these CDs at a knockdown price, hence the reason that they are
sold cheaply. The software is just as the full version, only the packaging is
cut-down or non-existent.
