Date: 17 Feb 1994 11:10:15 -0800 Organization: Computer Sciences Corporation Lines: 22 Distribution: usa Message-ID: <2k0fen$jnf@gdwest.gd.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: gdwest I'm trying to look at choices for cd-drives w/o sound cards, w. some sort of bundled s/w. (btw, I HATE cd-rom, heck, a printed paper is a rom, of sorts). ANyhow, Damark is selling various dble-speed drives for $239 w. the atlas, chess game, etc. Actually, there's a no number panasonic for $219 in their latest issue. Now, I pay $7 for shipping. The lowest sony cdu33a around town is $189 + tax = $204. (although I jsut saw someone say $169 from some mail-order place). Seems for the additional price from damark for $22 I can get some disks to use w. the drive. I don't seem to find anyone that sells bundled s/w disks for that price range, they seem to want $99 if you buy a drive from them. My past experience w. damark is that the stuff is usually a clearance-type item, but you get what they advertise, no more, no less, you just have to really read the print. Is there somewhee I can get bundled disks cheap? ANd has anyone bought one of these drives from damark? -- Joe St.Lucas stlucas@gdwest.gd.com Standard Disclaimers Apply Martin Marietta/General Dynamics or whoever owns us this week.
