Aloha!

I run a PC-based multimedia lab, with over 40
cd-rom titles. Currently, my favorites are mostly
reference titles.

Encarta 94 - Good breadth of knowledge, not very
in-depth, however. Thousands of photos, hours of
music, tons of narrated science animations. The
most cluttered interface I have ever seen (IMHO).

Grolier's / Software Toolworks Encyclopedia - Not
as pretty or as integrated as Encarta, but faster.
More video clips, which impress visiting VIPs
(impressed people = $$$$).

Twelve Roads to Gettysburg - A SLLOOOOOWWWWWW disk,
with *excellent* content. A very entertaining,
accurate treatment of the events leading up to that
turning point in the war, as well as the battle
itself. But so slow!

DISKS TO AVOID:

Any version of the World Atlas before v4 MPC.

Time Table of History disks.

Most Textware disks.

Voyage to the Stars / Voyage to the Planets. Actually
just one disk, the cd is labeled one way and
the program runs the other way. All the pictures
appear to be very similar, and the program wants 590k
free. Amazing Universe (same product, different
pictures) is better.

Well, mail me if you want to talk some more.

Jason
