Objective:

Create high-performance stand-alone Powerbuilder/VisualBasic/SQLWINDOWS
application with database residing on CD ROM.

High performance access time is critical as is the need to compress the data
as the raw data itself will exceed 600MB.

Apple platform is also a consideration

I'm looking for answers/feedback on:

Licensing compression software to be activated only
when the application is running. (Users should not be
required to be running under specific DOS)

        Built-in compression features of Stand-alone RDBMS's
        (SQLBASE, ACCESS, WATCOM)

        Opportunities to discuss general issues
re: developing CD Rom Apps using mainstream GUI tools.

There is a real opportunity to get involved with the development of
this
        system for qualified individuals.

Please respond ASAP.

Steve Mintz
