(a moronic question-warning) Date: 7 Jan 1994 04:50:51 GMT Organization: University of North Carolina Extended Bulletin Board Service Lines: 35 Distribution: world Message-ID: <2gipnb$1ec@samba.oit.unc.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: lambada.oit.unc.edu Sorry for posting this question which probably has already been asked a hundred times, but I never paid attention as I just bought T7G for myself. I'm having problems with sound. During the intro, e.g., when the pages start flipping there is an INCREDIBLY annoying clicking sound during the voice narration. When I type "V ?" it says, "you're in virtual mode, you might have problems with PCM sound." Okay, but how do I run T7G in 32 bit mode? I'm used to doing that for some programs, but how do I load mouse, SCSI drivers, sound card drivers, MSCDEX and all the other stuff and have 570k left to run the program? I've tried mickey-mousing with loading stuff high in config.sys, but all the memory hogs are in autoexec, and I don't know how to load them high without using EMS. HELP! (a sample config and autoexec from someone who's not a moron like myself with the same hardware would probably do the trick) For the record, I've got version 1.1t of the discs, and I tried the T7G-FIX patch (5-11-93 for filedates -- no different from my CD). The game is almost unplayable because it's too hard to hear voices. I've got a 486-66, 8mb ram, Soundblaster16 SCSI-2, Toshiba 3401, Cirrus Logic Local bus 542x or something like that. Direct mail to:diamond@acad.udallas.edu p.s. I have m:20 in mscdex, and I tried emm386 with the noems option (which put me in virtual mode according to "v ?") . -- The opinions expressed are not necessarily those of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Campus Office for Information Technology, or the Experimental Bulletin Board Service. internet: laUNChpad.unc.edu or 152.2.22.80
