I have heard that the hard disks used in creating Write-once CD-ROMS
(I like to call them CD-PROM) must NOT do thermal recalibration. It
seems that they run fine for 10 mins or so, but the time it takes to
recalibrate exceeds the buffer used to keep the writing continuous.

Is there a list of drives that ARE good for mastering one-off's?
I'm looking to get a 1G SCSI drive that I can use later with making
one-off's.

Does anyone know if the Segate 11200N (1.05GB) does thermal recal?
