Parallel port CD-ROMS are hideously slow, from everything I've heard (and
reagular CD-ROM drives are plenty slow enough!). I've heard presenters at
conferences say NEVER consider buying one. I've also been looking into using
OS/2 with CD-ROM. On one of the CompuServe 0S/2 forums, Plexor (Formerly known
as Texel) was recommended, as was Toshiba. I'd suggest checking with both the
manufacturer and the maker of the SCSI card you're planning to use to see
whether they have Windows NT and OS/2 drivers available (I have a feeling
it'll be harder to find a drive that's NT compatible than OS/2 compatible).
