Erik,

I had the same problem whem I upgrade to DOS 5.0.  The older MSCDEX will
only work with DOS3.X.  You can try using the setver command the make
MSCDEX think it is running with a 3.X DOS.  Eventualy I upgraded my
version of MSCDEX.
