Can anyone help me with connecting my DAT player/recorder to my PC. I only need elctronics/physical help, since I know all about writing disk drivers. I have both coax and optical digital in & out, (32/44.1/48khz ?) but I am not sure how I can stuff this into my PC. I figgure a serial-to-parallel shift 74xxx thingo and then into my printer port would do nicely, but I havn't quite enough electronic know-how to work out how to turn 2 wires into the ground, data, and *clock* inputs necessary. Can anyone help with some hints on how this is done ? As an aside, since digital copies of CD's can be made onto DAT, it only remains for a DAT-to-CD driver (and el-rippo cache) to be written to back-up all those expensive CDs, in case of theft, etc... It hate having a dying 1g SCSI hdd, and a digital recorder capable of such capacities, and no way to plug it in! Thanx all. Chris Drake sir@external.unsw.edu.au sir@usage.csd.unsw.oz.au
