I am coming in to this from a point of ignorance and because it is not my computer, I have not been reading all the news so sorry if this has been dealt with before... Anyway, does what you are saying suggest that, although you have to stick the logic of and ESDI controller between the PS2 and an ESDI(controllerless drive), could you somehow bypass the ESDI controller and stick a standard IDE drive into a PS2? Secondly, for there to be any relevance to my situation, does the PS2 55sx use ESDI to control its 60MB (standard?) HD? If not, is there any way to put an IDE drive into a PS2 55sx? As an aside: is there anyway to put a Colorado Memory Systems Jumbo Tape drive (which generally connects (I think) to a standard ISA floppy controller) into the 55sx? --- strang@mit.edu
