I have a question about the reliability of a CDR disc.

I understand that mass produced CD's are very robust.  Is there any
difference with the recordable discs?

What is the prewrite shelf life?

Once recorded, do they have a limited life?
Are they vulnerable to light, moisture, or other conditions?
