Not true.  Kodak uses the guts of the Philips unit.

See also the latest issue of BYTE for a comparison between
the new low cost Yamaha unit and the Pinnacle unit and one other.
The main hitch they found was in getting a hard disk that won't
stop and do a thermal recalibration every 20 minutes (or at least
one with enough of a buffer so that it's not a problem).
