There was a discussion in the photo newsgroup some time ago concerning the
life of recordable Kodak PhotoCDs.  Kodak claimed something like 100 years,
but the group experts concluded is was more like 5 or 10 years.  The longest
warranty on a CD-R disc that I am aware of is 3 years.  I think traditionally
manufactured "pressed" discs have an expected life of around 100 years,
although cracks in the surface layer or around the edge can allow air in and
the aluminum can corrode in a relatively short time.
